All about "Me"

My name is Kitty McGurer, and I am a recently retired elementary teacher, a grandma, and a beaded jewelry designer. I've been "playing" with beads and glass since I was a young child. I've always loved glass, gems, and fossils. Jewelry designing has been one of the most rewarding and relaxing endeavors I've ever attempted. A few years ago, I decided to sell my jewelry and beading creations instead of just giving them as gifts.
I developed a web page and started attending local craft shows. The response was overwhelming!
I specialized in Amulet Bags. Two of my Limited Edition Amulet Bags ("Miracle") were sold to a woman in Singapore, so I am now "INTERNATIONAL"!!You can see "Miracle" and read about her on the "Limited Edition" page.
I also design "Spirit Bags" ~ a small suede amulet bag embellished with a "focal" stone or fossil.
They are of Native American descent meant to hold a precious, personal item close to your heart.
Designing my "Spirit Bags" has satisfied a longing since childhood to somehow
express my love and respect for Mother Earth and the Native American culture.Recently, my jewelry designing has taken yet another new direction.
Inspired by the magnificent artistry of Heidi Kummli and Sherri Serafini,
I have begun to create intricate bead embroidery neckpieces. They have become my newest passion of artistic expression! ...and now...with retirement...I can FINALLY fulfill my heart's desire to bead full time!
